I never thought Id be offering this special gelding for sale, but I find myself too busy and just dont have the time to ride them all. A Southern Splash, Splash as I call him, aka "Powder puff" my husband calls him, as has even been referred to as Little Baby Jesus with the Golden Fleece diapers (because he was always put up on a pedestal) and is a very special horse.

Splash is out of an AQHA Wonders Otoe barrel racing mare that has earnings of over $62,000 and broke 2 arena records in Florida. His sire is a Jet black AQHA Leo bred gelding from the Z3 Ranch that was a proven Calf Roping, Team Roping, and 1D Barrel horse. Splash is from AQHA bred horses, and despite his fancy paint job, he has no Paint bloodlines and is registered AQHA.

I have owned this gelding since he was 2 years old. I bought him because I personally knew his sire and many of his siblings that were exceptional horses. I have done all his training and know this horse inside and out. Splash has been on countless hours of trail riding in the city, numerous desert mountain parks, has been camping and tied overnight on picket lines, and rode through the woods. He has been to the Salt River crosses water with ease and has even went swimming. Weve loped through the forest and hopped over logs and swam the river bareback with a halter. Many times I have ridden him on long rides bareback in just a halter. Excellent trail horse, is confident and great out alone. This gelding is very well broke, soft and supple in the bridle and in his rib cage. You can bend him, flex him, shape him, side pass, reverse arch, will break at the poll and back up a mile if you ask him to. He is light in the bridle, has a ton of feel, rides between the reins, and rides great in just a little tender touch bit. He is a quick footed horse, has a ton of athleticism and is an athlete. He has plenty of speed, but can ride with an almost lazy feel at times until its time to do a job.

He is a seasoned 3D barrel horse, that I competed on a couple years, and has not had his legs ran off. He was brought along slow and correct and does not have any alley or gate issues. He does know his job and is free runner on the barrels. He is also pattered on the poles, but more just for fun. He has quite a bit of cattle experience, will pin his ears and watch a cow; is a wicked sorting or penning horse. Ive swung a rope off of him and roped a lead steer on him, but have never roped anything out of the box. He has very very smooth gaits. Super slow little jog that you can sit, nice lope. Extremely comfortable to ride. This is the kind of horse that a horseman will appreciate everytime you swing your leg over him.

This gelding has been special to me and has been pampered his whole life. I am picky about where he goes and will not sell him to just anyone. This horse is full of life and personality, he will whinny at you every time he sees you, and will run full blast across a pasture if you whistle at him for a cookie! I will not sell him to someone who boards, he is not a boarding facility horse, or a horse to be locked in a stall his whole life; hes one for someone that is committed and that has the time and property to take care of him and give him the attention he deserves. He is one that will quickly become part of your family. He is kept stalled on shavings, when the weather is not idea, and turned out daily. He is quirky, a little watchy on the ground, quick footed and athletic, is best suited for an experienced rider. He has never offered to buck me with me, he is not cinchy. He will get stall fresh if you dont turn him out or ride for a long period of time, so he's best where he can be turned out often. You can leave him off a year and he stays just as broke. You can leave him off a year and hop on him bareback with a halter.

Splash has been well taken care of. He loves people and will lick your arm or face like a dog. He is currently legged up, (yes he looks fat, but hes always fat ha ha) hes been under the lights, has NO winter coat, is slick and shiny and will need to be blanketed. He is a big baby, he will shiver if he gets rained on, and does not like mosquitos. He is an easy keeper. He is sound, does not require any maintenance, never been injected. He has white feet and is shod, and requires shoes all the way around. I've tried him barefoot and his white feet don't do well. He is shod every 6 weeks. No vices, does not crib or weave, doesnt paw, clips, good for the farrier, bathes, just a super nice horse to be around.

If you are interested in Splash, please give me a call so we can discuss him farther to see if this boy would be a good fit for you. It is very important to me that he goes to the right person that can enjoy him and love him as much as I do. Id like him to go to a lady who owns her own horse property, has shade in the summer and will blanket him in the winter. Someone who appreciates a horse with a huge personality, a kind soft eye, and a horse with a lot of feel and athleticism. Someone who wants a lifelong partner thats gentle, but not a dead head. I promise you will not find a horse with more personality; I go through a lot of horses in my business and if he wasnt a fantastic horse, I wouldn't have kept him all this time. This was my number 1 horse that I hauled everywhere I went for many years, he's seen all the sights and is a blast to ride. He is a bit of a goofball, not completely bomproof, but he's never once did anything bad. If you have experience, you'll think he's really gentle. He does not have a mean bone in his body and will give you 100% everytime. He is flashy horse and I guarantee if you haul him to a public place, people will go out of thier way to tell you what a pretty horse he is.
